Abstract

Co-doped ZnO and (Co+Al) - doped ZnO films were synthesized by the radio frequency magnetron sputtering in mixed atmosphere Ar+20% O2 and Ar+20-50% H2. The morphology, chemical composition, crystal structure, and magnetic circular dichroism of the films were investigated. It was established that the films thickness decreases several times when Ar replacing partly by hydrogen into the sputtering chamber. At the same time, the increase in relative Co content in the films with the increasing hydrogen concentration is observed. The hydrogenated films exhibit ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature. The nature of room temperature ferromagnetism in the hydrogenated Сo - and (Co+Al) - doped ZnO films is discussed, as well as the mechanism of influence of hydrogen concentration on the magnetic properties of the samples.
